Outside the consulting room, almost nothing that happens to a person is recorded. Between one appointment and the next, the interval is blind both to those who provide care and to those who receive it.
Instituto Vida Preventiva investigates whether physiological signals captured continuously, in everyday life, add useful information to health follow-up, and under what conditions that holds.
We do not have that answer. It is what the research sets out to measure.
Research lines
Continuous capture of physiological signals
Personal-use devices: wristband, ring, and sensorized aligner. This line studies what these sensors capture in everyday use and what the signal loses outside the controlled environment.
Measurement agreement
In development
Comparison between the device signal and the corresponding reference equipment. To date, no measurement against a reference standard has been carried out.
Organizing the health trajectory
Bringing scattered test results, appointments, and records into a single, readable timeline. Clinical interpretation remains with the professional.
Interoperability with the public systems
Study of integration with e-SUS APS and the National Health Data Network, official platforms of the Brazilian Ministry of Health.
How we work
The clinical decision belongs to the professional. Nothing developed here issues a diagnosis, a prescription, or a course of treatment, and no model output counts without confirmation by a licensed professional.
No results before measurement. Until there is a comparison against reference equipment, with sample and method described, the institute makes no claim about device performance.
LGPD (Brazil's data protection law) implemented from inception, with roles and responsibilities defined in writing before any data collection.
Research, not commercial activity. The institute is a private non-profit Scientific, Technological and Innovation Institution under Brazilian Law 10,973/2004, and does not sell products or services.

Team
Bruno Machado
Founder and President
Dentist trained at Uniderp (2010), specialist in Orthodontics and Facial Orthopaedics from IOPG-MS (2013), with an MBA in Management, Governance and Public Sector from PUC-RS (2023). He has worked in healthcare since 2011 and left clinical practice in 2018 to devote himself to technology development. Creator of the IVP Sentinel Ecosystem.
Dra. Maíra Machado
Technical Director
Dermatologist (CRM 5400 MS), member of the Brazilian Society of Dermatology, on-call physician for the City of Campo Grande since 2007. Responsible for the IVP's digital dermatology research line and for the technical evaluation of POCT and wearable devices.
Volunteer Collaborators
Dr. André Luis Martins — Scientific Director of Instituto Vida Preventiva (volunteer). Master's and PhD in Health Sciences. Co-author of the work presented at the II CONIPPS. Scientific support and methodological guidance for IVP Ecosystem research.
Dra. Renata Rodrigues de Almeida Pedrin — Collaborating researcher (volunteer). Co-author of the work presented at the II CONIPPS. Research in orthodontics and aligners, a reference for the dental research linked to the IVP Ecosystem wearables.
Dr. Fernando Pedrin Carvalho Ferreira — Collaborating clinical researcher (volunteer). Co-author of the work presented at the II CONIPPS. He is part of the team designated to conduct the clinical protocols in Bauru-SP, whose start depends on approval by a Research Ethics Committee.
Dr. José Antônio de Moura — Collaborating clinical researcher (volunteer). Co-author of the work presented at the II CONIPPS. He is part of the team designated to conduct the clinical protocols in Campo Grande-MS, whose start depends on approval by a Research Ethics Committee.
Dr. André Luiz Pereira — Strategic collaborator (volunteer). Works with artificial intelligence applied to Brazil's public health system. Led the technology team at the Minas Gerais State Hospital Foundation (FHEMIG).
