A journey that became an institution

Since 2011, Dr. Bruno R. M. Machado has worked in underserved communities, public and private schools in Campo Grande, bringing information, care, and support to those who need it most — recognized in 2018 with the title of Honorary Citizen of Campo Grande.

Instituto Vida Preventiva was created to multiply that work: promoting health and well-being through prevention, training, and technological innovation, with a focus on equity and collective impact.

Why companies and health plans come to us

Non-communicable chronic diseases — the leading cause of absenteeism and claims costs — are, in large part, preventable. Scientific literature already documents real financial returns from structured prevention programs at companies like PepsiCo, Johnson & Johnson, and CAIXA, backed by academic research from Harvard.

We apply this same logic in population risk analyses. One of them, prepared at the request of a large Brazilian company that approached us to assess synergy with what it does, modeled a population of about 45,000 employees and projected a return of 1.5 to 6 times the investment, with an estimated 20% reduction in preventable hospitalizations. Projection based on published scientific literature; measuring real-world results depends on implementation.
